MR. D.I.Y. Celebrates 10 Years of Growing Alongside Thai People Partners with SET and EEF to Donate 50 Computer Sets Expanding Learning Opportunities and Building Financial Literacy Among Thai Youth

MR. D.I.Y. collaborated with the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) and the Equitable Education Fund (EEF) under the “Computers for Thai Children: Financial Education” initiative to provide 50 computer sets from MR. D.I.Y. stores to five schools with limited access to educational resources: Sophon Jariyatham Wittaya School, Ban Kaeng Raberd School, Ban Mueang Song Tho School, Klum Nak Khao Ying (Ban Bo Wi) School, and Ban Pong Na Kham School. The five schools have a total of 842 students. The initiative aims to provide young people with equitable access to technology infrastructure and digital learning resources. In addition to helping reduce educational disparities in remote areas, it also aims to build a foundation and promote knowledge and understanding of financial management and financial planning, enabling Thai youth to appropriately apply the knowledge gained in their daily lives.
The donated computers were in good working condition and were no longer required for use within the organization. The computers were inspected and checked prior to donation to support their reuse and extend their useful life. New keyboards and mice were also purchased to ensure that the computer sets were ready for use. This approach supports the principles of the Circular Economy by promoting the efficient use of resources, reducing the potential generation of electronic waste (E-waste), and reducing waste to landfill. At the same time, it creates educational opportunities and promotes financial literacy skills that are essential for young people in underserved schools.
